About the Dearborn RiverStarting high up the Front Range, the Dearborn runs through a variety of terrain, including a beautiful 20 mile canyon stretch before it empties into the Missouri River. During the spring months this river becomes floatable, providing jaw-dropping scenery along with the opportunity to catch feisty Browns in the 18"-24" range (sometimes bigger). The put-in can be found by taking highway 287 to the Dearborn bridge and 10-13 hours later you will find yourself on the Missouri. Be sure to have life jackets and some experience on the oars because there are a couple technical sections throughout the float during high water. This is truly a great experience even when the fishing is sub-par and should be high up on the list of to-do list.
