Here is a great looking baitfish pattern using Flymen Fishing Company's new Fish Skulz.  This pattern looks especially great for anyone heading to the Baja region... or most any salt destination that may have Anchovie or Sardina type bait balls to throw at. The Beauty Industry Envies Us

Yep... that's our conclusion.  Fly fishing dudes must be that cool.  I think it's the ladies way of trying to attract our niche breed.  I can see how our style of headlamp wearing, unfashionable, bearded, insect loving type has tempted a large population of highly fashionable females to dress up their hairdo with our fine Whiting Hackles.  It's so obvious... they want us.  Last week a lady came in and bought all of our Euro hackles from Whiting.  I mean... We have set official dates for our trip to Guanaja, Honduras this fall which are November 6th-10th.  This is obviously not your typical or traditional bonefish and/or permit destination.  Guanaja Island is one of three islands that make up the bay islands 30 miles off the coast off the Honduran mainland.  Honduras is located in Central America, south of Belize, north of Nicaragua and El Salvador, and East of Guatemala.  The capital city is Tegucigalpa.  We will be... Anglers Tonic TV/ Fishing Season!
February 16, 2011
Sam Wike
The recent warm weather has motivated most of us to brave the spring Chinook winds and head to the Missouri River.  Justin and Rob were both out this past Monday and got a bunch of nice rainbows.  Hopefully the weather can hang on for a few more days so that weekenders can get out this Saturday and Sunday.  For those of you who haven't checked it out yet.  Greg Thomas writes an excellent blog on fly fishing Montana called "Anglers Tonic."  Greg is the... In the News: HB 309
February 10, 2011
The Montana House of Representatives on Wednesday pushed forward "the ditch bill," a piece of legislation opponents say would gut the hard-won consensus between landowners and sportsmen over access to streams. House Bill 309 by Rep. Jeffery Welborn, R-Dillon, passed 55-44 on second reading Wednesday. It will go to the Senate if it passes a third-reading House vote, which will probably take place today. The Senate likely would schedule a committee hearing within the next three... Read more

Healthy Number of Rainbows on the MO
February 10, 2011
Fisheries biologists found healthy populations of rainbow trout in the Missouri River last fall when they conducted their annual rainbow trout census. Team leader Grant Grisak, a biologist in FWP's Region 4, said high flows in the river in 2009 and 2010 and the end of a decade-long drought in 2008 helped keep fish numbers high. Biologists count fish 10 inches and larger. In the Craig section of the Missouri, they found 2,818 rainbows that size per mile and in the Cascade stretch... Read more

Action Alert on House Bill 309!
February 9, 2011
Sam Wike
Please write your Montana House Representative TODAY and tell him or her to vote AGAINST HB 309, an extremist bill sponsored by Rep. Jeff Wellborn (R-Dillon) that severely weakens Montana's stream access law, resulting in many streams you currently fish becoming off limits.   Background:   HB 309 creates a new definition for "ditches" in Montana's stream access law. It includes natural streams that have been altered by irrigation structures or irrigation... Read more

Lots of Press on Bill HB309 - Today...

Anglers blast access measure Montana Standard, February 8, 2011 Anglers are blasting a bill carried by a Dillon lawmaker that would revamp Montana's stream access law to make any waterway that receives water diverted from a natural stream off limits to public recreation. The measure, carried by Rep. Jeff Welborn, R-Dillon, would change state law to bar anglers from using water bodies that get water diverted into them. The measure is a sneaky attempt to undermine Montana's stream... Read more
