The Condit Dam on the White Salmon River was breached today allowing water to run freely through the bottom of the dam.  This opens up about 33 miles of Steelhead and Chinook spawning grounds.  Next summer the rest of the dam will be removed and the area will be returned as close to it's natural state as possible.  The Condit Dam is (was) 95 years old, and was originally built to supply power to a paper mill.  The White Salmon River is a tributary to the Columbia River... Erik and I visited the new fly shop up on Ponderay, Idaho this week and did some fishing with Calvin early in the morning.  The fly shop is coming right along as we continue to tweak the fly selection, clothing, and tying materials specific to the area.  Megan and Calvin have received lots of new inventory in the shop up there and are now working on merchandising tweaks and getting things dialed in and organized.  They are also working with store manager Patty Arthur...
