Bitterroot River with Finfetchers

What to Expect on the Bitterroot with a Finfetcher
The Bitterroot River flows north through the Beautiful Bitterroot valley. The Bitterroot River offers picturesque scenery as it flows  towards Missoula between the Sapphire and Bitterroot Mountain ranges. Browns, Rainbows, and West Slope Cutthroats lay and wait for your fly in riffles, deep pools, and long undercut banks in this freestone river. The Bitterroot is famous as a “Dry Fly” fishery and the season usually starts in March and runs through November.   Big  dries dominate on the Root, Skwalas, Salmon flies and Golden stones fill the "big fly" menu along with Mayfly and Caddis.  Fish species include Bull Trout, Cutthroat, Rainbows, German Brown, Brook Trout, and even the occasional pike in sloughs on the lower river.
