Wike's Baetis Nymph
Wike's Baetis Nymph
Wike’s nymph was designed from fishing the Missouri river and noticing that the emerging nymphs to have long slender bodies compared to many of the commercially tied flies. This fly mixes old school with new school. The old school use of a wood duck tail with natural yellowish barred feathers, the white CDC wing case, and the dark rusty turkey biot give the fly a tailwater touch. While the new school use of scud back, wire, and uv brown ice dubbing give the fly durability and hint of flash in the wing case. The fly is tied using a variety of lucent bead head colors with matching ice dub.
